FlexSteel Pipe Safely Deploys from Vessel on Lake Maracaibo in Venezuela

The Challenge

A national oil company faced the challenge of replacing aging pipeline infrastructure and restoring production from wells located on Venezuela's Lake Maracaibo. With strict quality expectations, and demanding delivery deadlines, the project called for a solution capable of meeting both scale and speed requirements.

The Solution

FlexSteel met the project's demanding schedule by delivering product incountry within eight weeks of order placement. Deployed directly from vessels into Lake Maracaibo, controlled descent allowed the pipe to settle and self-stabilize on the lakebed without complex subsea stabilization.

This streamlined installation approach enabled rapid pipeline deployment and helped accelerate the return of wells to production.

The Result

By combining rapid product delivery with a streamlined installation process, FlexSteel enabled operators to rehabilitate multiple flowlines and quickly return wells to production. Each line was typically installed in approximately one day, while the pipe's ability to self-stabilize on the lakebed eliminated the need for complex subsea stabilization systems. The result was a faster return to service and accelerated production restoration across the field.
